The Asian Turtle Conservation centre established in 1998 and merged into the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo .Turtle Conservation Centre in Cuc Phuong National Park received 71 Central turtles – turtles endemic to Vietnam to return home after a long trip from Europe, where the two Rotterdam Zoo (Holland) and the Zoo Münster (Germany) has been successfully breeding this rare species.Conservation activities in Vietnam are now priorities for the critically endangered species and endemism . The project focuses on turtles Central ( Mauremys annamensis ) , yellow forehead central box turtle ( Cuora bourreti ) and southern yellow forehead box turtle ( Cuora picturata ) in central Vietnam . In the north , ATP is also conducting conservation projects Hoan Kiem turtle ( Rafetus swinhoei ) , also known as Swinhoe huge prize , recorded species have a very high risk of extinction in the world .
Training and communication skills is a component of the activity of ATP with the training capacity for law enforcement rangers team , raising public awareness about the importance of the protection of turtles in Vietnam. ATP also organize activities associated conservation research and training the next generation of scientists , young turtle conservation through training students annually
