Delacour’s langur

Delacour’s langur – symbol of Cuc Phuong National Park, a unique primate species are in danger of extinction. This is a rare species only distributed in Vietnam and is protected globally. They have black plumage, but in the back near the hips and buttocks, back feathers have white highlights as shorts, so we called langurs white shorts.

600 Delacour’s langur human populations living in small, isolated in the limestone. However, more than a dozen years later, half of the monkeys that had disappeared ,Delacour’s langur, also known as other names langurs white shorts .Body weight from 8.1 to 9 kg, head and body length of 0.46 to 0.665 m. Atop the crest feathers are black, with white markings broad cheeks extends upward ear. Legs with black fur. Buttocks with white hairs extend into the base of the tail and thighs, long limbs. The tail is longer than the body, black tail feathers. Feeds mainly shoots, leaves and fruits
